This February, Cypress Gallery features the acrylic work of Tonya Schultz, a member of the local art community and long time resident of Lompoc. Tonya describes her work as impressionist and abstract, with bold color and a sense of joy. She loves to paint people, scenery and growing things that organically capture her love of life. |
| Tonya is currently a Marriage and Family Counselor with Valley Medical Group in Lompoc and has previously taught in the Lompoc Unified School District. She has had a lifetime of creative ventures, including quilting, writing, gardening, sewing and knitting. The addition of acrylic painting to her life has, in her words, “filled my heart and made it sing”. The abstract dimensions, fluid movement and bright colors of her work are perfect creative expressions of these feelings. |

For the past two years Tonya has worked with instructor Linda Jay Zivich. In addition, she is attending art instruction classes taught by Robert Burridge.
Tonya says she always plans her work, but soon the sense of creativity takes charge and she finds that her most satisfying pieces of work involve a bit of serendipity. For Tonya, painting is a joyous expression that provides a sense of fullness and is simply loads of fun. |
| Please stop by the Cypress Gallery during the February show, to view the many fine paintings created by gifted Lompoc artists, and take a look at the featured artist section with Tonya’s paintings and creations. |
